Peter Appleyard | It's so rewarding to hear young musicians performing in concert. I can't think of a more rewarding experience. Recently I enjoyed listening to the Toronto Youth Wind Orchestra - they gave me a good feeling to see them carrying the musical torch. There's hope yet!
Keep practising, guys!! |

Chris Hunsburger | Way to go TYWO! A great website, consistently impressive concert series, now touring? I wish I was in school again. I'll never forget everyone and I'll always love the memories.

Carolyn Cowbourne | Looking over this site reminds me of all the good times I had in my years with TYWO... So many wicked good times!!
Musically and socially, TYWO is one of the best experiences that a young player can have. I work for music festival/academy now, and I hope that our players benefit and enjoy their time with us, as much as I did my time with TYWO.
To those of you in the group now - What you have is a fantastic opportunity! Enjoy it, learn from it, and take it with you in years to come.
To everyone that was around when I was - I hope this message finds you well, happy and successful in all your choices!
Colin, you’re the best!
Here’s to the experience, the friends, and the memories I will never forget!

Joan Watson True North Brass | Dear TYWO, Thank you so much for a wonderful experience playing with you on Oct. 29th at the Weston Recital Hall. I am still thinking about that experience weeks later. Firstly, I want to praise Colin for his commitment to young musicians and supporting their passion to play. Colin has a wonderfully relaxed way of encouraging the best from people and maintaining the "we're here to have fun in a professional way" attitude. This is exactly what True North Brass is all about. We all love to play, enjoy each other, have a great deal of fun and thrive on the pursuit of excellence. The TYWO musicians re-affirmed for me that taking that route is the best route. The musicians of the TYWO have a personality! They were fun to work with, to perform with and to get to know backstage. Wonderful, energetic, enthusiastic young musicians. Nothing buoys up an "older" musician than that. ( of course I'm speaking for the men of TNB ) . I remain agelessly enthusiastic about the legacy of music being passed from musician to musician. I love that I am in a long line of people who found their voice on the horn. Meeting and playing with your horn section confirmed that feeling. You are all doing wonderful work and making beautiful music. Please keep it up and know that your music making is truly making the world a better place. |

Karen Ong | Ni hao ma, neih hou, hello TYWO, and happy greetings from China!! Well, when Colin told me about the new website, I just had to check it out right away, even though I am 15,000 km away. It is absolutely superb!!! Excellent job Graham, you have really outdone yourself my friend!!
Some of the fondest memories of my entire life have been ones from my time playing with this outstanding group. I will never forget these experiences, and I take a little bit of the music with me everywhere I go ... even to the other side of the world.
Xie xie ni, Colin, thank you for sharing your wonderful gift of music with us. It has been a privilege.
Joi gin and zaijian everyone - until we meet again .... Karen :) |

Clayton Warren | I've lived for the moments I'll never remember with the friends I'll never forget in TYWO! Thanks to all the musicians and board members who made TYWO one of the best of experiences of my life. Sometimes I look back and am blown away by all the great musicians I had the privelege of playing with (and for)during my time with TYWO. I always look forward to hearing about all the cool things everyone is doing in music and in life. OK...I'm starting to ramble now. Good luck and good times to all my TYWO friends in the future. See you around!
Clayton Warren (Tuba - TYWO 1994-2002)
P.S. Colin: I can't wait to see you up on stage with New York or Chicago in a few years. Just make sure you get those guys to play like a good European orchestra. ;) |
|---|
Jessica Lindsay | yay TYWO! I thought I'd be a nerd and sign this guestbook :) The re-vamped website is so easy to navigate yay! My only complaint is the picture of me... *grr* hehe oh well, it makes me feel famous *beams* :D Hope to be with this group for many years to come! Clarinets rule :D |
|---|
Renee Willmon | Beautiful website! It's so great to be able to promote TYWO to all my friends back home this way. (Yes, I came from CALGARY to play with this ensemble! hahah) TYWO is the reason I live for Sundays. I'm soo excited to start this season- To all the new musicians, you're in for a real treat! See you all at rehearsal! |
|---|
Ernesto Cervini | Yes...It's about time a wonderful ensemble like TYWO has a professional looking website. Well done Graham, and keep up the good work Colin! |
|---|
Jonathan Wong | Sorry can't join y'all again this year...maybe later in the year when things are less hectic. But yeah had loads of fun last year! Rock on! |
|---|
Rob Broden | Saw this group perform at the pops concert last year...nothing short of spectacular! Felt like I was watching a group of professionals. |
|---|
Ian Feenstra | Wow, this is such a fabulous group. I can't wait until rehearsals start. A couple of my friends have played with this group in the past and I'm really excited to be a part of it now. |
|---|
Gita Madan | Hey everyone! I am sooooo happy and excited to be joining TYWO this year. I've heard so many amazing things about it...oh man, I can't wait! I already know it's going to be awesome..see you all soon :D
(p.s. haha thanks dad) |
|---|
A Madan | Thanks very much for giving Gita a chance to be part of the Orchestra for the year 2004-05. This is one of the finest moments for Gita. As a dad, I would like to thank the selection committee for the opportunity afforded to Gita. Good luck everyone for the new year!!! And, you have a great website as well!!! |
|---|
Rachel Malach | Hey TYWO!!! Wow, the season looks incredible...best of luck to you all! I'm definitely going to miss our Sunday afternoon rehearsals this year. Keep me posted on concerts...and if you ever need a trumpet (wink wink). Thanks for a great 6 years with the organization, you're an amazing group of musicians and people. Keep in touch and keep the music coming! |
|---|
Adam Zinatelli | Alright TYWO! Have an awesome season! Though I won't be playing with you guys this year, I look forward to your concerts! Colin: if you need a sub, let me know! Also, I'm looking forward to the Slava video! |
|---|
Eva Lane | I'm sooo sorry not to be coming back this season....but trust me I will be at as many concerts as I can get to! TYWO rocks! |
|---|
Nick Francis | This is a very impressive new website. It brings back fond memories of my many years on the band, and what a remarkable wind band this is! I should say, too, that such a thing as TYWO is a real rarity in Canada, and should be treasured. |
|---|
Scott Hallman (LOW BRASS) | To anyone who joins TYWO, lookout for pretty close to the top musical experience your life. The repertoire rocks, the people are great, the rehearsals are hilarious (with a VERY serious musical edge...and it shows in performances). I commute every week from KINGSTON, Ontario (around 250kms..some come from London, Ontario as well)to play with the wind orchestra, and trust me, there's groups I opt out of playing in within the Kingston region because TYWO is just that educational, and the 2.5 hours of driving each week is well worth it! There's my plug...season '04-05...lets get ready to rock! |
|---|
Sabrina Conley | Wow! The new site is just too gorgeous for words! Really! I am so excited to go back into the new season, I didn't realise just how much I missed all of you until we all met up again last Sunday *hugs all around* I cannot wait to see all the new and old faces this weekend! I don't know how, since last season was so brilliant, we are going to top it, but we certainly will! |
|---|
Maria Pham | Wow..I must've totally missed this on my daily visits to the site. Thanks for following through on my idea Graham! It looks like this season is going to be spectacular; after seeing so many people return from last year it's like we're one big family again! With some great new additions, of course. I don't know about those personnel managers though, they seem like pretty shady characters...especially the one with the sideburns... |
|---|
Brennan Connolly | I'm gonna miss seeing all of you EVERY week!!! Sug still lives on studying music in London. The fine institution that our fearless leader studied at!! I'll see you guys at odd rehearsals here and there though. Hopefully once a month!! Here we go on another season TYWO!!!
BC |
|---|
Caitlin Smith | Congrats on the swank website! I miss Colin's rehearsals dearly... so much so that I STILL have my folder... with all the music....
I look forward to hearing your concerts this year! |
|---|
Ian Anhorn | Whassup My Hommies! I love this site...I love this Family...I am here almost everyday....I don't know if being TYWO Personnel Manager has anything to do with it. FOR ALL WHO ARE READING THIS...THIS SEASON IS GOING TO KICK BUTT!!! I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED...especially on DM2...my baby...Graham Lindsay Is A God! And Colins Middle Name IS RAWHIDE! Sorry CC, but it's time the world knew about it. SUPPORT THE CARNEGIE HALL TRIP!! Lates! |
|---|
Martha C | Hey guys! This website is awesome! I have had some of the best experiences of my life in TYWO! Keep it going! |
|---|
Strahan Beatty | TYWO = Rockin' the proverbial Kasbah
Thanks to everybody I've met in the TYWO. You guys are honestly my closest friends and have been the biggest positive influence in my life. Also, my apologies to anyone who's had to endure a rehearsal with me. Colin, I promise I'll be a good boy this year :) |
|---|
Julian Smerdon | I have many fond memories of working with TYWO as a clinician. Congrats to Colin and Dave on making this organisation better every year! What an excellent opportunity for our city's young musicians. The website looks GREAT! |

Some of my most inspirational and valuable experience have come from playing in this ensemble, and I hope that everyone who plays in it right now realizes how great it is (and how cool CC is :P). Keep up the great work! |

|

Paul Girling | Ahhh how I miss my days in the Wind Orchestra... some of the best memories I have are from my years with this group. The new website looks fab!
Keep up the great work, and best of luck for the upcoming season. |
